THE TASK.
- You, or the two of you, must pick one of the scenarios
above (#1-5).
- Then you must pick which rental you will live in (A-E)
and which utilities you will then need to buy.
- You must then use the attached list to plan a month’s
worth of meals. You can just show three days (breakfast,
lunch and dinner for each day) of meal planning and then
multiply by 10 to show your monthly food bill. The diet must
be enough to keep the family from starving or getting very
sick.
- You must also buy one item of clothing for each family
member and 1 toy and/or appliance.
- Show, in a neat spreadsheet or some kind of neat ledger,
how you used your money to provide for your family for one
month.
- Write a paragraph describing your family’s experience
for this month.
Assessment: someone looking over your budget must be able
to understand it. They must be able to see how much you made,
and where all the money went to pay for rent and food,
especially.
