Some of you still need to do this. Use the
form and take it to the Speaker of the House,
P-Daddy.
Once you have a bill concept approved, you need
to write the bill! It is worth 35
points. Follow the directions on your handout in
designing the bill. Use the
Thomas server to search for bills that are
currently before Congress which are like your bill.
These will give you ideas for the wording of your
bill.
It will help you to get Co-Sponsors for
your bill. These are other Congress members
who agree with the bill. You will enter bill
sponsors names when you submit your bill. (#5) Be
sure to indicate what period your co-sponsors have
Civics.
The bill must be submitted electronically
to the Moodle
in the appropriate place.
You need to plan the speeches you will
give on behalf of your bill when you are before the
committee next Tuesday.
Design a brochure about your bill.
If you give a master to Mr. Pahl, he will make 25
copies (black and white) for you to hand out to
committee members...
Check out who is on the committee which
is hearing your bill...what can you do to help
insure that they pass your bill? :-)
Check out what committee you are on.

The Iowa Caucuses are today...tonight...The Iowa
caucus is the first of the 50 state primaries/caucuses which
decide the candidate for President from the Republican
Party.
Get a group together of up to 4 people (in other words
you can do this alone, work in a group of 2, a group of 3,
or a group of 4.)
The assignment: Make a brochure, or chart
or other graphic format (NOT a PowerPoint) which explains
the Iowa Caucuses (and their place in the other
state primaries...), using a
